IOK de Globe welcomes children from all over the world who do not yet speak the Dutch language. This means that each child comes with its own background, culture and religious conviction from the country of origin. It is nice to learn from each other and live together in the Netherlands. For many children, Dutch culture is a first introduction to a culture that they do not yet know.
Students can enter a group throughout the year. This means that the group consists of children who are in different NT2 stages. Starting or advanced.

Newcomers are children who are new to the Netherlands and have been here for less than a year. These children do not yet sufficiently master the Dutch language to take part in education at a regular primary school. They can be children of asylum seekers, children of labor migrants or children who come to the Netherlands because of family reunification. At IOK de Globe we offer education to newcomers aged 4 to 12 years.
There are groups for toddlers aged 4 and groups for toddlers aged 5 or 6. A group consists of a maximum of 12 pupils. Sometimes it happens that a 6-year-old pupil who has not yet had education in the country of origin is placed in a kindergarten group, because this fits in better with the development of the child.
Children from 6 to 12 years old are placed in a group according to age. A group consists of a maximum of 15 children. There are three age groups; 6 to 8 years, 8 to 10 years and 10 to 12 years old. These groups have one or two permanent teachers.
The best way to get to know us is to come and visit us. You are more than welcome.
